DiabloSport Chip 40 owners, 0 comments The DiabloSport performance chip is a small electronic device that contains a memory chip. On this memory chip is all the code an engine needs to operate; explaining how much fuel to squirt and how many degrees spark timing needs to be advanced (amongst other things). This particular chip contains an exact copy of your factory computers memory contents -- only they've been tuned to operate on 91+ octane fuel. This results in improved horsepower, torque and driveability. The chip also remaps the transmission shift points in an automatic transaxled vehicle, greatly improving shifting times and stiffness. It is recommended that if you bring your Cougar to Mercury dealership for service (especially under warranty), you should remove the DiabloSport chip so that it does not interfere with the dealership's diagnostic computers. |
